Ποιμαντική Παρουσία Σεβασμιωτάτου (Μάιος –
Αύγουστος 2024)
Ο Σεβασμιώτατος Μητροπολίτης Ισπανίας και Πορτογαλίας Βησσαρίων, ευρισκόμενος στην Πορτογαλία λόγω της εκεί Πατριαρχικής επισκέψεως, ετέλεσε την Κυριακή, 19 Μαΐου, την Θεία Λειτουργία τον Ναό της Κυρίας Θεοτόκου Λισσαβώνος παρουσία των διπλωματικών αρχών της Ελλάδας και ικανού πολυεθνικού εκκλησιάσματος.
Το εσπέρας της ιδίας ημέρας, παρέστη προσευχητικώς στην εσπερινή Θεία λειτουργία επί τη Δεσποτική Εορτή της Πεντηκοστής των Ρ/Καθολικών, στον Ιερό Ρ/Κ Ναό του Αγίου Νικολάου Λισσαβώνος, προσκεκλημένος των ιερέων του ως άνω Ναού. Με το πέρας της Θείας Λειτουργίας, παρεκάθησε μετά της συνοδείας του στο εόρτιο δείπνο που παρετέθη προς τιμήν του.
Την 12η Ιουνίου
παρέστη και ομίλησε εισαγωγικώς στην παρουσίαση του βιβλίου «Athos, La montaña Santa», του συγγραφέως Ignacio de la Torre, που έλαβε χώρα στο Ποντιφικό πανεπιστήμιο Comillas στην
Μαδρίτη. Πρόκειται για το πρώτο βιβλίο για το Αγιώνυμο Όρος που γράφεται από
Ισπανό συγγραφέα.
Την 13η
Ιουνίου παρέστη στα εγκαίνια της εκθέσεως «Ο κώδικας Σκυλίτζη: ένα σύμπαν
εικόνων» στην Εθνική Βιβλιοθήκη της Ισπανίας (Bibliteca Nacional de España) στην
Μαδρίτη παρουσία της Α.Β.Υ. της πριγκιπίσσης Ειρήνης, των διπλωματικών αρχών
Ελλάδος και Κύπρου, όπως και μελών της επιστημονικής κοινότητας Ισπανίας και
Ελλάδος. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί πως είναι η πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία του που μέρος
του περίφημου Κώδικα εκτίθεται στο κοινό.
Την 23η Ιουνίου,
Κυριακή της Πεντηκοστής, εν πληθούση Εκκλησία, ο Σεβασμιώτατος ετέλεσε την Θεία
Λειτουργία και τον Εσπερινό της Γονυκλισίας στον Ορθόδοξο Καθεδρικό Ναό της
Μαδρίτης.
Στις 19 Ιουλίου, ο
Σεβασμιώτατος Μητροπολίτης, υπεδέχθη στην έδρα της Ιεράς μας Μητροπόλεως τον
αντιπρόεδρο της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, κο Μαργαρίτη Σχοινά μετά της οικογενείας
του, όπου και τον ενημέρωσε για την Ορθόδοξο μαρτυρία στην Ιβηρική και το εν
γένει έργο της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Ισπανίας και Πορτογαλίας.
Την 15η
Αυγούστου, εορτή της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου ετέλεσε την Θεία Λειτουργία στον
Ορθόδοξο Καθεδρικό Ναό της Μαδρίτης.
Ακολούθως, ο Σεβασμιώτατος, πραγματοποίησε την πρώτη ποιμαντική του επίσκεψη στην νεοϊδρυθείσα ρωσόφωνη ενορία της Παναγίας των Ιβήρων στη νήσο της Τενερίφης (Κανάριοι Νήσοι), όπου την 19η Αυγούστου εορτάστηκε η Δεσποτική εορτή της Μεταμορφώσεως του Σωτήρος κατά το Ιουλιανό ημερολόγιο. Ο Σεβασμιώτατος συνεχάρη τον εφημέριο Αρχιμανδρίτη π. Γεώργιο Yuri Buchma για την διακονία, την υπευθυνότητα και την αγάπη του στην μικρή ενορία του νησιού.
Την 25η
Αυγούστου μετέβη στην πόλη της Albufeira (Faro) Πορτογαλίας όπου ετέλεσε την
Θεία Λειτουργία στον ναό του Αγίου Αποστόλου Θωμά. Μετά το πέρας της Θείας
Λειτουργίας, ο Σεβασμιώτατος μαζί με τον εφημέριο π. Ανδρέα Vovkunovych τέλεσαν την
δοξολογία επί τη εθνική εορτή της Ουκρανίας και ευχήθηκαν για την κατάπαυση του
αιματηρού πολέμου και την επιστροφή της ειρήνης και ευημερίας στην περιοχή.
Την 31η
Αυγούστου, ο Σεβασμιώτατος, αναχώρησε αεροπορικώς για την Κωνσταντινούπολη ώστε
να συμμετέχει στις εργασίες της Συνάξεως της Ιεραρχίας του Θρόνου (1-3
Σεπτεμβρίου)

His Eminence's Pastoral Presence (May - August 2024)
His Eminence Metropolitan of Spain and Portugal Besarion, being in Portugal for the Patriarchal visit, celebrated on Sunday, May 19, the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Our Lady Theotokos in Lisbon in the presence of the diplomatic authorities of Greece and a large multinational congregation.
In the evening of the same day, he attended prayerfully the evening Divine Liturgy on the Pentecostal feast of the R/Catholics, at the R/C Church of St. Nicholas of Lisbon, invited by the priests of the above mentioned Church. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, he joined along with his entourage the dinner provided in his honour.
On 12 June he attended and gave an introductory speech at the presentation of the book 'Athos, La montaña Santa' by the author Ignacio de la Torre, which took place at the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid. This is the first book on the Mount Athos written by a Spanish author.
On June 13th he attended the opening of the exhibition "The Skylitzes Codex: a universe of images" at the National Library of Spain (Bibliteca Nacional de España) in Madrid in the presence of HRH Princess Irene, the diplomatic authorities of Greece and Cyprus, as well as members of the scientific community of Spain and Greece. It is worth noting that this is the first time in its history that part of the famous Codex is on public display.
On June 23, Pentecost Sunday, in a crowded Church, His Eminence celebrated the Divine Liturgy and the Vespers of "bending the knee" in the Orthodox Cathedral of Madrid.
On 19 July, His Eminence the Metropolitan received the Vice President of the European Commission, Mr. Margaritis Schinas and his family at the headquarters of our Holy Metropolis, where he informed him about the Orthodox witness in Iberian peninsula and the work of the Holy Metropolis of Spain and Portugal.
On August 15, the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, he celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Orthodox Cathedral of Madrid.
His Eminence then made his first pastoral visit to the newly founded Russian-speaking parish of Our Lady of Iviron on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands), where on 19 August the Apostolic feast of the Transfiguration of the Saviour according to the Julian calendar was celebrated. His Eminence congratulated the parish priest, Archimandrite George Yuri Buchma, for his ministry, responsibility and love for the small parish of the island.
On the 25th of August he went to the city of Albufeira (Faro) Portugal where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church of St. Thomas the Apostle. After the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence together with the parish priest Fr. Andrew Vovkunovych celebrated the doxology on the national holiday of Ukraine and wished for the cessation of the bloody war and the return of peace and prosperity in the region.
On August 31, His Eminence departed by plane for Istanbul to participate in the work of the Synaxis of the Hierarchy of the Throne (September 1-3)
